New intelligent monitoring system for microorganisms and emerging contaminants in sewage networks.
The objective of this project is to develop a new real-time continuous monitoring system for the determination of Emerging Organic Contaminants (EOCs), pathogenic microorganisms and the control of other wastewater quality parameters, capable of operating inside sewage networks. Likewise, the construction of a device that allows communication to transmit the data recorded on a web platform is proposed, so that it is possible to monitor the pollutant load circulating through the network at all times.

The team involved in the MONITOCOES project brings together collaborators specialized in different fields as it is a multidisciplinary research project. Together with REGENERA, a company dedicated to the management and execution of activities for the production of electrical energy by installations supplied by renewable energy resources or sources, waste and cogeneration, participates in the investigation the company. INGENIATICDESARROLLOdedicated to the development of offering solutions and services in wireless networks, 3D printing, ICT consulting and web development. The research team also includes the UNIVERSIDAD POLITÉCNICA DE CARTAGENA through the Division of Innovation in Telematic Systems and Electronic Technology (DINTEL) and the R&D&I Group in Hydraulic, Maritime and Environmental Engineering (Hidr@m). The academic part of the consortium is completed with the participation of the technology center. The purpose of the CENTRO TECNOLOGICO ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (CETENMA) BUSINESS ASSOCIATION is to support research, development and technological innovation for companies in the energy and environment sector, as well as related industries.

The project has been funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation – State Research Agency, within the call RETOS COLABORACIÓN 2019, which supports projects in cooperation between companies and research organizations, whose objective is to promote technological development, innovation and quality research.
